2025年11月秋田県田沢湖

■ Executive Summary｜概要

In November 2025, during an artist-in-residence stay hosted by Mr.starRo, I visited the Tazawako area in Semboku City, Akita Prefecture. The focus of this stay was “Input for Output”—immersing myself in the nature and culture of Japan’s deepest lake to refine my creative sensibilities. This culminated in a spatial design project at Mizusawa Onsen, where I immediately channeled the inspirations gained during my residency into a public communal space.

2025年11月、starRo（シンヤ）氏が主宰するアーティスト・イン・レジデンスへの参画のため、秋田県仙北市・田沢湖エリアを訪れた。今回の滞在では「アウトプットのためのインプット」を重視し、日本で最も深い田沢湖の自然と地域の文化に身を投じることで、自身の感性を調律することに専念した。その滞在で得た五感の刺激を、即座に地域の公共空間である「水沢温泉」での表現へと昇華させる試みを行った。

■ Activities｜具体的な活動

・Input Process｜インプットのプロセス

To deepen the foundation of my physical and spatial expression, I visited the Kamaitachi Museum, the birthplace of Butoh, to reconnect with primal, earth-bound forms of movement. Additionally, I participated in “Taiwan Day,” an exchange program with students from Taiwan. Through activities like presentation of their stay in Japan, Taiwanese culture and dancing together, I experienced a connection that transcended language barriers.

身体表現と演出の土台を深めるため、舞踏の聖地「鎌鼬（かまいたち）美術館」を訪問し、土着的で力強い身体表現の原点に触れた。また、台湾からの学生との交流アクティビティ「台湾日」に参加。彼らによる台湾文化紹介、日本滞在時の体験報告やダンスを通じ、言葉や国を超えた繋がりを体験した。

・Spatial Design at Mizusawa Onsen｜水沢温泉休憩エリアの空間デザイン

Working alongside a local creative crew, I transformed the lounge area of Mizusawa Onsen into an immersive relaxation space. While StarRo and the local team provided music and physical healing, I focused on visual spatial direction. I projected serene footage of Lake Tazawa—captured during my stay—onto the darkened walls, overlaying the text “Mizusawa Onsen” as a tribute to the local atmosphere and beauty.

暗く落とした水沢温泉の休憩エリアの壁面に、滞在中に撮影した田沢湖の静謐な風景映像をプロジェクターで投影した。映像に「水沢温泉」の文字を重ね、地元の雰囲気と美しさを称えるビジュアルを構築。StarRo氏率いる地元クルーによる音と癒しの表現に、私の映像演出を掛け合わせることで、多層的なリラクゼーション空間をデザインした。

■ Reflection & Future Outlook｜考察と今後

The experience proved that spatial intervention through light and sound can turn a communal “after-bath rest” into a profound state of Presence. Witnessing local elders sleeping deeply or relaxing while gazing at the familiar scenery of their own home confirmed that validating one’s existence through art is a powerful form of community support. Following this collaborative model with local professionals, I plan to continue creating tailor-made spatial experiences that enhance well-being across different regions.

今回の空間演出により、湯上がりの「休息」という日常が、深い内省と癒しをもたらす「Presence（存在の肯定）」の場へと変容することを実証した。おじいちゃんやおばあちゃんが地元の風景を眺めながら深い眠りにつく姿は、W.A.P.P HEIGHTSの哲学を体現する光景だった。地元のプロフェッショナルと連携し、その土地の魅力を引き出す共作スタイルを、今後も各地で展開していきたい。
